APPRENTICESHIP

PROFESSIONAL TRAININGS

Since some of the initial beneficiaries of our activities are young adults who have left school prematurely, we've been running an apprenticeship program for the past few years.

Recognizing the potential to offer more than just a 'paid apprenticeship' in a shop or garage, we decided to sponsor professional training.

We established a partnership with the Professional Training Center of Budo Budo, and the first group of students began their training in September 2023. Four students are currently enrolled in a four-month program focusing on welding, metalwork, and fabrication.

Presently, we are sponsoring five students in professional training:

  • Four in Civil Engineering and Construction work for a six-month program
  • One who has enthusiastically joined a Cooking/Pastry professional training at the recently opened School of Hotel Management (EHT) in São Tomé. This program, primarily supported by the World Bank, features instructors from São Tomé and Portugal.
  • Two more students are waiting for the carpentry training to start.

YOU RUN A BUSINESS IN SÃO TOMÉ ?

Of course, we will continue to offer our initial Apprenticeship program launched in 2022, where young adults learn directly within existing businesses.

If you own a business in São Tomé and wish to participate in this initiative, please reach out to us! In the past, we've successfully placed apprentices in various businesses such as car garages, bike shops, restaurants, and construction companies.

If you're unable to be present in São Tomé but would still like to contribute, we encourage you to consider a financial donation. Throughout the process, you can select the specific program you wish to sponsor.

We eagerly await your response!
